Duke the Dashing Plott Hound
Duke was adopted from HT when he was a puppy. Unfortunately, his family's circumstances have changed. So they have made the very difficult decision to find Duke a new home and family.
This is a snuggly kind of guy. He likes to nap in front of the fireplace. Duke likes to chew on bones and eat yogurt - not necessarily at the same time. Since he's an active boy who loves to run, Duke might make a good jogging partner. However, he likes to chase squirrel/cats/ little animals, so his jogging partner needs to be on animal alert when running with Duke. He likes to be outside, so hiking and walks are also favorite activities.
Duke gets along with other dogs. He is especially fond of Lab/Lab mix girls - he thinks that they are hot stuff! This sweet guy would benefit from some refresher training. Being a hound, he follows his nose. Unfortunately, his nose often takes him places that people would prefer he didn't go - trash cans, countertops, tables on which food is left out, etc.
While he looks like a big tough dog, he is really very timid and shakes when he is afraid. Duke doesn't like thunderstorms or loud noises-he shakes and hides in closet when he hears these. Duke would do best in a home with another dog where people are around a lot.
