Gorgeous Gwen, Small Hound

Gwen is 5 years old and 35 lbs and is  one of three hound sisters who were dumped in the driveway of a woman known to take in homeless dogs in rural Virginia. Since they're hounds, we presume that Gwen and her sisters weren't very good hunters. Unfortunately, Gwen had to live outside in a pen and wasn't given flea/tick preventative. As a result, Gwen has contracted heartworms and will need treatment for this condition.

She has the most easy-going, mildest temperament of the three sisters. Gwen is very sweet, warms up very quickly to people, and is very grateful for affection. She does well with other dogs. This pretty girl would love to find a patient person or family who will give her an indoor home with a warm bed and regular meals. Gwen will repay you with adoring gazes, home at last sighs, and love for years!

Gwen is living in a foster home in the metro DC area and is eager to meet you!

Did you know that Hounds are one of the most overlooked breeds in shelters? Thousands are discarded by irresponsible hunters every year and most are euthanized in shelters immediately for no good reasons.
